Part-2:

Student: "Is what we practice as healers a step before one starts chanting harinaam or after?"

'Bhagavad Gita for All' is an ongoing lecture series by Nalin Nirula.

He is a spiritualist and karmic healer based in New Delhi, known for reversing chronic degenerative diseases, as well as conveying spiritual, destiny-changing initiations.

Srila Bhakti Sundar Govinda Maharaj, Sevaite-President-Acarya: Sri Chaitanya Saraswat Math

Editor's Note-2:

This correspondence is between the Master and an advanced healer who has a depth of knowledge about Vaishnava tradition and practices. This correspondence  pre-supposes certain background knowledge.

Master Nirula's over 12 years of in-depth experience with ISKCON, and his subsequent Brahmin inititation by Bahakti Sundar Govinda Maharaj of the Sri Chaitanya Math at Kolerganj, Nabadweep is known to the student.

A number of references to this history are made by the Master Nirula.

Chanting Harinaam

  • Master Nalin K. Nirula: Chanting harinaam may be done by anyone anytime but without special and specific empowerment it is going to take a long time to get us to the point of ridding us of karmic consequences.

According to the Atharva veda, there was a time when Brahmins, raj-gurus and doctors specially, (and kings), had Reiki and KQ Force
energies available to them which is how they could perform miraculous healing feats.

These healing energies are different type of action energies of what is now known as harinaam and Brahmin diksha. Originally they were all in a package form--the Divine heart connecting energies (as in harinaam and Basic level of Reiki and KQ Force), and Krishna's crown chakra energies as of the Brahmin initiation as in Reiki 2 level and KQ Force.

  • At Reiki 2 level we can consider Brahmin initiation complete. So both Reiki and KQ Force energies are combined devotional heart and crown chakra Brahminical connection.
  • Further the ISKCON type of initiation is a specific 'exclusive' initiation up to the Brahmin level which is only for a few and therefore 'separating', not inclusive.
  • Therefore, in a practical sense it is not universally possible at this time, and the only workable alternative at the highest performance level are the karmic healing energies of Reiki and the KQ Force.

Student: Is healing devotional service? How?
What is the eligibility to become a healer?
What is the eligibility to do devotional service?

What is the difference between Krishna Aaradhana and our healing practice?

Only Devotional Service is important, nothing else

Master Nalin K. Nirula: According to Srila Haridas Thakur, father of Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Saraswati Thakur (guru of Srila Prabhupada), in his Jaiva Dharma he clearly states that Brahmin is a very temporary position for a particular lifetime and is not very important for getting liberation--only devotional service is important--serving the cause of Krishna.

There is also the example of the Gopis who surpassed their karma-kandi Brahmin husbandsin devotional service because of the devotional heart connection (Reiki) coming from Radharani.

The whole world will never be initiated Brahmins or Krishna devotees so how will they be liberated? Are people to suffer then because theoretical arguments overrule practical considerations? Is there no other help besides formal chanting harinaam?

  • Chanting harinaam as in the Mahamantra is one solution, and the other is to work with the concealed light form of chanting harinaam--Reiki and the KQ Force, that have their own sound vibration of chanting harinaam.
  • The whole world can become Reiki and KQ healers because they have they incentive to immediately improve their lives and karma with guru and Krishna's grace.
  • As you know, 4 types of seekers come to Krishna and He says in Bhagavad Gita all are welcome--those in financial pain, those in physical pain, the curious, and the wise gyanis who know the truth.
  • These seekers are not motivated by 'love of Krishna' initially--they seek relief in some sense.

The hidden agenda in the karmic healing modalities is to get everyone back to Godhead.

We invite you to reflect on the story of Dr. Mikao Usui--how he tried to
give this knowledge of enlightenment and divine grace to the people but they could not understand it.

  • So Mikao Usui gave it them for the side-effects of this, which are, the healing of their physical health and other material problems.
  • In the process the healers naturally started following the spiritual rules--no gambling or speculation, no eating meat and so on, because their purified bodies could not take that energy without making them uncomfortable or unwell.

Being devoted to the cause of Krishna is the only function of healing--the rest of the benefits we get are side-effects but we are more attracted to the side-effect benefits.

This is absolutely fine. We do not hypocritically claim to be great devotees and renunciants who are then secretly, and sometimes publicly, falling down from their self-proclaimed high standards.

  • It is very liberating not to artificially follow severe self-disciplinary practices. But the most interesting thing here is, healers will naturally, automatically begin following those practices as they progress spiritually.

This is parallel to the raga-marga of devotional service and its results--spontaneous devotional service equals spontaneous healing being channeled by healers where things are getting healed around them for others without healers following a 'method' way of healing.

This is a unique thing.

As healers we do more than technical Brahmins do in changing the karma and destiny. There are certain procedures that Brahmins are trained for as in Yagyas meant for society's uplift, and these are to be encouraged.

However, the type of karmic healing we get through the Reiki and KQ Force is not visible in devotees of ISKCON.

That is a different path and not necessarily a superior path. It depends upon what you want out of life.

Srila A. C. Bahktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, Founder-Acarya: ISKCON

Reiki and KQ teachings do not insist on following rules but advise what is to be followed or not karmicly, but you receive internal guidance and you discover the downside and upside of not following or following by your experience if needed--it is not forced on you.

Such a realized understanding is very deep and more useful. It happens quickly by practical experience if not by wisdom. There is honesty here in the sense of being 'nishkapt'--the tendency to cheat or falsify is gradually removed.

Do not  gamble or speculate or confuse yourself with other philosophies, as you will get deviated from the healing path.

ISKCON is a particularly tough reform school for tough karma cases and you have graduated far beyond that level.

  • We spent 12 years in very deep krishna conscious connection with ISKCON with very close interaction with the senior leaders including the GBC's. There is a glamor about ISKCON that attracts the innocent and the troubled.
  • Their practices create a sense of purpose and joy in the heart.  It is doing some very good work undoubtedly and is most useful for people with a certain type of karmic bank balance.

We always respect our old schools and teachers and fellow students, among which are the ISKCON gurus and devotees, and so should you also respect them. But there needs to be a little distance.

Again we repeat-- You do not need to go back to primary school once you are in an advanced class or university (Reiki & the KQ Force).

However, just as we have graduated from that kind of school, by our association you have done the same—you are in an advanced class.

There is no need to revisit old school text books once you are in advanced classes like Reiki and KQ Force—unless you haven’t learned your lessons. That then is a whole different story.

Our advice is for you is, to do your healing with focus and do not get side-tracked by beguiling intellectual philosophies and glamorous performances and talks and promises by any persons or institutions that may be selling the Divine and using Him and His deities as a nut-cracker!

  • We are only interested in conveying healing empowerment to make people take personal responsibility to heal their lives with Reiki and the KQ Force,  and for people not to give over their personal responsibility to Krishna, guru, ISKCON etc to do their work for them. We are not 'selling' anything else.
  • Depend on Krishna and guru for guidance and support and help--but you have to do the healing work, and stay focused.
  • You must heal your life yourself after receiving guru kripa when you got connected to Reiki and the KQ Force.

There is nothing else to be done, and even if a healer knows nothing about Krishna or vedic philosophy--he will still go back to Godhead just the same.

You do not need to work separately for it. If it pleases you, you can read about Krishna and his pastimes in a systematic manner. The most detailed and informative books easily and widely available in a single place conveniently are the books written by Srila Prabhupada.

Correlate these with the teachings of Reiki and the KQ Force only if it does not conflict you. If it is confusing, do not read these books. Stay with what has brought you benefit and transformation of your life.

Healing Work is guerrilla warfare!

This healing work is the concealed, guerrilla warfare kind of Krishna consciousness in this world which has already too many divisions and causes of hatred due to religious sectarian philosophies.

Healing is non-religious, non-sectarian, non-conflicting and doesn't require you to change anything in your life except to get the Reiki and KQ Force initiation and do the healing methodically.

You need only the company of others like you—sadhu-sangha, and
speak with them on healing topics—sat sangh. That is association with the rightly placed, and association with the Truth.

  • Healing is non-contradictory to any personal belief or personal philosophy. It does not require you to follow any belief or faith or religious system. Just follow the healing method and you will reach wherever it is that your heart's desire takes you. It is result-oriented in this lifetime in the now, and you don’t have to suffer now in the hopes that the future will be bright someday.
  • You create your bright future today, right now, with the help of the Divine liberating energies of Reiki and the KQ Force.
  • Read your Reiki 2 manual. We have specifically pointed out the pitfalls of falsely assigning credit to unrelated factors for your progress in healing and transforming your life. We have also pointed out the dangers of deviating and wandering from the healing path once you have got substantial benefits—thinking now that you are comfortable you need something 'higher'.

There is no 'higher' available right now. Whenever something higher comes, and we connect with it, we will let all our students know.

This is our observation—When anyone follows other self-developmental paths in spirituality or healing—we do not see a majority of the people getting the type of benefits material or spiritual that a majority of the karmic healers get—even when the healers don't know anything about Krishna. This is something verifiable repeatedly and independently.

This is therefore truly a blessing and grace directly from the
Divine Supreme Source of all that exists—Krishna, to help the entire world whether one is knowledgeable or ignorant.

Liberation is not just for a few who know or preach about Krishna most visibly. No one has a monopoly on Krishna!

"What pleases Krishna most, is the best kind of Krishna Aaradhana!"

(Editor's note-3: A few key points have been expanded upon here by Master Nirula for greater clarity.)

Reiki and the KQ Force unite people from all walks of life with all their varieties of issues and aspirations.

  • The unity lies in the common purpose to increase wellness in life, body and spirit, to serve Krishna’s purpose and desire to take all His children back to their true eternal home when they—we, can serve Him personally, directly.
  • Undoubtedly this is the best aaradhana or service to Krishna.

While here in the material world, we can serve His expansions in the form of His names whether in the form of the mahamantra or in the form and names of the Reiki and KQ symbols. There is no conflict between the two.

Liberation from material bondage, and beyond that--service to Krishna is ultimately the highest purpose of all spiritual practices by whatever name they are called, and in whatever way they appear. They all have the common identifiers as mentioned here.

  • Service to Krishna can take place even when one is bound by matter, or even if in illusion (maya), or in ignorance--if one is somehow is engaged in the service of Krishna. That is the Supreme Grace of Krishna coming through Reiki and the KQ Force, the hidden liberating energies that engage all those touched by them in Krishna's service.
  • Chanting Harinaam essentially does the same--it engages one to be qualified to enter Krishna's direct service. Karmic healing that liberates souls on the scale and scope Reiki and the KQ Force initiate and promote, is a direct service to Krishna. Reiki and KQ Healers thus have the qualification of being on a platform that is as good as those chanting Harinaam, and those who are initiated Brahmins insofar as the effects their healing activities have.

This has been a profound meditation for us on the questions you asked, and we have shared some of our realizations coming from this with you. We thank you for this opportunity.

We invite you to reflect deeply and seriously on what we have said.

Blessings, love and light, for peace, prosperity, protection and wisdom,

Nalin K. Nirula

Post-script to Chanting Harinaam - The Most Confidential Knowledge

Srila Sridhara Swami, Bhaktivedanta Swami at opening of ISKCON Mayapur Chandrodaya Temple - Govinda Maharaj leading kirtana

August 13, 2015

My initiating spiritual master Srila Bhakti Sundar Govinda Maharaj was the disciple of Srila Bhakti Rakshak Sridhara Maharaj. A.C. Bahltivedanta Swami and Sridhara Maharj were godbrothers, disciples of Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Saraswati Thakur who founded the Gauidiya Maths in West Bengal and first took the preaching of Krishna Consciousness to the Western world in a major way.

In Sridhara Maharaj's Introduction to his book, 'The Loving Search For The Lost Servant', he reveals the most confidential importance of Krishna's  relationship to the souls in the material world, retelling the narrative in the Brhad Bhavatamrta. I give below excerpts of this introduction to help understand the importance of what Reki and KQ Force healers are doing daily.

That the karma-liberating activities of the healers is of the highest service to Krishna gets a new meaning and importance in the light of these revelations.

Introduction

Great intensity is expressed here in a simple way. It is a mad search -- an urgent campaign. With great earnestness Krishna comes to deliver His lost servants; Krishna comes to take us home. In Brhad Bhagavatamrta, it is written that once, as Krishna and the cows were returning from the Vrindavan forest at the end of the day, a boy had just attained spiritual emancipation and entered Vrindavan as a cowherd boy [sakhya rasa]. Seeing His long lost servant, Krishna embraced him and both of them fainted in ecstasy.

All of Krishna's other cowherd friends were astounded, thinking, "What is this? Krishna has lost His senses by embracing this newcomer! How is it possible?" Then, as all of the cowherd boys looked on astonished, Balaram came to Krishna's relief and somehow managed to rouse Him.

Then Krishna addressed His friend with great affection: "Why did you stay away? Why have you been living away from home for so long? How was it possible for you? How could you bear My separation? You left Me, and you have been passing lives after lives without Me? Still, I know what trouble you took to return to Me. You searched for Me everywhere, and went to beg from house to house, and you were chastised by many, ridiculed by many, and you shed tears for Me. I know all these things. I was with you. And now, after great trouble, you have again come back to Me." Krishna addressed His long lost servant and welcomed him thus. And when Krishna returned home, He took the newcomer by His side to take Prasadam. In this way, a new recruit is earnestly welcomed by Krishna Himself.

So the Lord's search for His lost servants is a loving search; it is not ordinary, but from the heart. And the Lord's heart is not an ordinary heart. Who can estimate what type of search He is engaged in? Although He is full in all respects, still He feels pangs of separation for every one of us, however small we may be. In spite of His supreme position, He has room for us in a corner of His loving heart. This is the nature of the infinite. Such an absolute autocrat, absolute good, is Krishna. An autocrat is not under law. It is not that if Krishna gives Himself to one, another will be lacking. The infinite is not like that; rather there is an infinite supply at His command. So He is the Emporium of Rasa [akhila-rasamrta murtih]. And He is searching for His lost servants, to bring them home.

Krishna Is Our Friend

Otherwise we have no hope. Our solace, our consolation in life, is that ultimately we are under the care of such a loving Lord. Krishna's friends think, "What do we care for others? We have our Krishna, our friend. "That sort of inner encouragement, that desperate encouragement, comes from within. "Krishna is there, He is our friend. What do we care about anything? We can take poison, we can jump on the head of that big serpent Kaliya, we can do anything. With Krishna behind us, what do we care? This sentiment is expressed by Bhaktivinoda Thakura in his Saranagati:

raksa koribo tuhun niscaya jani
   pana korobun hama yamuna pani

"Fearless and confident of Your protection, I shall drink the waters of the Yamuna, whether they are poisoned or not. I am Your property. You must take care of me; You can't leave me."

kaliya-dokha korobi binasa
   sodhobi nadi-jala badobi asa
bhakativinoda tuwa gokula-dhana
   rakhobi kesava! korato jatana

"Although the Kaliya serpent's venom has poisoned the Yamuna's waters, I know that poison will not act. Your presence will cleanse the waters and so increase our confidence in Your protection. Bhaktivinoda is now the property of Gokula, Your holy abode, O Kesava. Kindly protect him with care."

How are we to enter into such a loving relationship with the Lord? Through the grace of Sri Gauranga. One devotee has said, "If Gauranga had not come, how could we live? And who would inform us about our ultimate prospect in life?" We have such a great prospect. And yet, without Gauranga, who would have come to inform us that we have so much wealth within?

Remember Your Merciful Guardian

And Sri Gauranga says, "You do not know, but you have such a great magnitude of wealth." His coming to inform us of our prospect is like the astrologer who reads a poor man's horoscope and tells him, "Why are you living a poor life? You have immense wealth buried underground. Try to recover it. You are so great and your guardian is so loving and so high, and yet you are wandering like a poor fellow in the street? What is this! You are not helpless; it is not that you have no guardian. You have only to remember your merciful guardian." In the Srimad-Bhagavatam [11.5.32], where the Kali Yuga Avatar is mentioned, we find evidence of the advent of Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu. There it is said:

krsna-varnam tvisa 'krsnam
   sangopangastra-parsadam
yajnaih sankirtana-prayair
   yajanti hi su-medhasah

"In the age of Kali, persons of great piety and intelligence will worship the Lord as Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu. He will appear in a golden form chanting Krishna's name, accompanied by His associates and entourage." After that, there are two other verses about Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu:

dhyeyam sada paribhava-ghnam abhista-doham
   tirthaspadam siva-virinci-nutam saranyam
bhrtyarti-ham pranata-pala bhavabdhi-potam
   vande maha-purusa te caranaravindam

Srimad Bhagavatam [11.5.33] explains here, "That same personality who came as Ramacandra and Krishna has again appeared. He has come to direct us to the real fulfillment of life. He is drawing the sweetest nectar from above for the sake of everyone. Meditate only on Him and all your troubles will be finished. He purifies all holy places of pilgrimage and great saintly persons by His touch and by His Sankirtan. He draws the highest things down from the highest plane. And even Brahma and Siva, puzzled by His noble gift, will begin to praise Him. They will eagerly aspire to take shelter under His lotus feet in surrender.

The pains of all who come to serve Him will be removed, and their inner necessities will be fulfilled. And He will take care of those who take shelter of Him; they will be given protection as well as everything they may need. In this world where mortality rules, where we are continually experiencing the undesirable changes of repeated birth and death, in this area where no one wants to live, a great ship will come for us and take us within, and carry us away from this unpleasant position. Let us fall at the feet of that great personality who comes to give us the highest nectar."

tyaktva sudustyaja-surepsita-rajya-laksmim
   dharmistha arya-vacasa yad agad aranyam
maya-mrgam dayitayepsitam anvadhavad
   vande maha-purusa te caranaravindam

"O Supreme Lord, You gave up the goddess of fortune and her great opulence, which is most difficult to abandon and is sought after even by the gods. In order to perfectly establish the principles of religion, You left for the forest to honor a brahmana's curse. To deliver the sinful souls who chase illusory pleasures, You search after them and award them Your devotional service. At the same time, You are engaged in a search for Yourself, in a search for Sri Krishna, Reality the Beautiful."

This verse generally applies to Lord Ramacandra, who left His kingdom, and after going with Sitadevi to the forest to discharge the duties designed by His father, chased after the maya-mrgam, the golden deer. Srila Visvanath Cakravarti Thakur, however, shows how this verse also applies to Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu. He says that the word maya-mrgam means that Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu ran after the souls that are enveloped by maya, or misconception.

The word maya-mrgam, when applied to Ramacandra, means that He ran after Marici, who had taken the form of a golden deer. When applied in the case of Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, the words maya-mrgam anvadhavat mean "He chased after those souls who are in illusion in order to deliver them. He ran in pursuit of the fallen souls as a savior, to deliver them from maya, or illusion."

The Chaitanya Avatar

Srila Vivanath Cakravarti Thakur has also given another interpretation: he says that dayitaya ipsitam means "it is desired by the beloved," that is, the search for Krishna. In this way, He identifies two qualities in the Chaitanya Avatar: He relieves the fallen souls, and He searches out Krishna in the mood of His beloved [dayitayepsitam anvadhavat]. Inspired by the mood of dayita, His beloved, Srimati Radharani, He ran after the souls in bondage to deliver them. Here we find the scriptural reference, the seed of this conception. He is in quest of the lost souls, absorbed in a loving search for His lost servants.

And throughout the whole life of Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu and His other self, Nityananda, it is very clear that They, being the Supreme Entity Themselves, are hunting after the fallen souls to deliver them. This will be the backbone of our conception of the Lord's loving search for His lost servants. And it is also said:

yada yada hi dharmasya
   glanir bhavati bharata
abhyuthanam adharmasya
   tadatmanam srjamyaham

paritranaya sadhunam
   vinasaya ca duskrtam
dharma-samtsthapanarthaya
   sambhavami yuge yuge

"Whenever and wherever religion declines and irreligion becomes prevalent, I advent Myself. In order to protect the saintly and punish the wicked, as well as to reestablish religious principles, I appear millenium after millenium." Here, Krishna says, "I come here now and then to help reestablish the scriptural injunctions, as well as to do away with the demoniac." These are the references from the scriptures describing how Krishna comes in search of His servants. By accepting these statements as our starting point, we can see that He is always coming to this world to help the fallen souls, His own servants.

Eternal Servants Of Krishna

What is the position of the fallen souls? In Sri Chaitanya Charitamrta, Srila Krishnadas Kaviraj records Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu instructing Sanatana Goswami:

jivera 'svarupa' haya -- krnera 'nitya-dasa'
   krsnera 'tatastha-sakti' bhedabheda-prakasa

krsna bhuli sei jiva anadi-bahirmukha
ataeva maya tare deya samsara dukha

"The constitutional nature of the jiva soul is that of an eternal servant of Krishna; the jiva soul is a manifestation of divinity which is one with Krishna and different from Him. The jiva souls are the marginal potency of the Lord. Though in reality they are servants of Krishna, from time immemorial, they have been engaged in misconception, as exploiting agents." In order to deliver His lost servants, the Lord comes now and then to take them up to His own home. In other religions we find many messiahs coming to help us to retrace our path from worldly consciousness back to God consciousness. Yet although we see this conception in other countries and other religious traditions, in India it is found in a most profuse and systematic way. In Srimad Bhagavatam [11.14.3] Krishna says:

kalena nasta pralaye
   vaniyam veda-samjnita
mayadau brahmane prokta
   dharmo yasyam mad-atmakah

"By the influence of time, the transcendental sound of Vedic knowledge was lost at the time of annihilation. Again, at the time of creation, I first inspired Brahma the creator from within his heart. And then, through Brahma, so many disciples were enlightened. They in turn enlightened their disciples. And in this way, the line of revealed truth descends from Me." And in Bhagavad Gita Krishna says:

imam vivasvate yogam / proktavan aham avyayam
vivasvan manave praha / manur iksvakave' bravit

evam parampara-praptam / imam rajarsayo viduh
sa kaleneha mahata / yogo nastah parantapa

"First I instructed the Sun God, Surya, in this knowledge, and from Surya it passed to Manu, and from Manu to Iksvaku; so from the beginning of time, I am giving My tidings to others, transmitting the truth that I am the goal through this system of disciplic succession, generation after generation."

Krishna As The Acharya

In this way, Krishna appears again and again to reclaim His long lost servants. And, as Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, Krishna is also tasting His own sweetness. When He wants to distribute it to the devotees, the cause is His ecstatic potency [hladini-sakti]. When Krishna combines with His potency as Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, He becomes the Acarya. So Krishna says, acaryam mam vijaniyan, "Know that I am the Acarya." His Acarya Lila is His self-distribution, and thereby He is taking His lost servants home. His recruitment is to distribute knowledge about Himself and devotion for Himself, and then to take them home.

In Vrindavan, Krishna is tasting rasa within His own circle, and in Navadvip, as Sri Gauranga with His group, He is tasting Himself and distributing that taste to others. His distribution and recruitment are one and the same. By distributing Himself He is drawing our hearts to Him, taking us home. The self-distribution of the Absolute is meant to draw us back home, back to Godhead, and in this way, the Lord is eternally engaged in His loving search for His lost servants.

The 'Big Mridangam'

A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada often said that  writings about transcendental topics was the 'Big Mridangam' compared to the mridangam played at kirtans and harinaam chantings and in the service of Krishna.

This is because the writings, the books and articles stay even after the author has long gone, creating the sound vibrations that open the heart and mind to the truth and ones highest purpose of life.

We trust these writing will be as a 'Big Mridangam' for all our healers, and those seeking freedom from pain, whether bodily or financial.

The curious and the gyanis are welcome any time as well!
