Some years ago, for a period of over two years, the Masters Nirula lectured with one-pointed focus from the sacred teachings of the Bhagavad Gita, the Divine Song of God. In their lectures, the Masters always connected the teachings for contemporary understanding and practical application in daily life.

The following are taken from answers to students' questions during those intense Bhagavad Gita lectures.

Eyes create the False ego
The way you look and criticize is coming from false ego; and that is also false humility... that you may be able to help someone whom you criticize.

Controlling the Mind
The mind and thoughts are composed of air and space and can be controlled by air. That is why we ask you to focus, meditate, on breath--the incoming and outgoing breath... This attention of the mind on the breath immediately attracts, engages and silences your mind.

Who is a friend and who is an enemy?
A person who is giving you some positive result of your Karma you call 'friend', but he is only giving you the results of your Karma. Someone who gives you the results of your negative Karma you call 'enemy'--but that is also your Karma.

He is not giving you anything from his own pocket--it's your pocket! He is only a courier-- That's what you need to understand. --(Chapter 3, Bhagavad Gita questions)
